And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell....But no one can tame the tongue; it is a restless evil and full of deadly poison....from the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be this way.
James 3:6,8,10
NEWS
The next membership class will be on Saturday, June 25 in Room 122 A and B (Reception Rooms). The class will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with lunch provided. Plan to bring your own Bible. To sign up click here or call Angela Haner in the Church Office.
ESL Plus (English as a Second Language) will begin in September. Staffing for the program is needed. Please prayerfully consider this ministry to teach English, and be an ambassador to our International people in Kalamazoo. Training and materials are provided; you do not need to be bi-lingual. Six teachers, eight helpers and staffing for a nursery program are needed. This is an excellent opportunity to reach the nations right here at home. Please contact Clay VanDussen for questions or to volunteer.
Adopt-a-Grad is a program for individuals, families, or life groups who are interested in committing to pray for and encourage one of our 2022 high school graduates for their first year after high school. If you are interested in adopting one of our graduates click here to sign-up or contact Tara Schober.
Opportunities to Serve
Children’s Ministry has immediate needs! There are 56 open slots in June alone. Church Membership is not required to serve; these are helper roles; you won’t be teaching. Please call the Church Office or email Hannah Haney.

Ministry Focus
The Calvary Choir is an auditioned ensemble comprised of singers of high school age and above with a wide range of singing experiences and training. The choir season runs from mid-September through early May. We rehearse on Wednesday evenings and help lead the congregation in worship in 2-3 Sunday morning worship services per month. Additionally, the Calvary Choir participates in the annual Calvary Christmas concerts, the Worship Ministries Spring Concert and in other concerts here at Calvary and in the community as opportunities arise. The choir’s theme verse is Psalm 66:2: “Sing the glory of His name; Make His praise glorious.” (NASB).
Elder Focus
Bob Drenth and his wife, Donna, have three adult children and eight grandchildren. Bob started attending Calvary Bible Church in 1967 and was saved in 1968 through our college ministry. He has served in Choir, Handbells, and Prayer Corps, and as a Deacon, Treasurer, greeter, Financial Secretary, and Elder.
