NEWS
After salvation, Baptism is an important next step for the believer in Christ. By obeying Christ’s command, you are publicly declaring your identity with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. Our next Baptism service will be Sunday morning, September 10. To sign up Click Here, email Angela Haner, or call the Church Office. There are two required meetings prior to Baptism Sunday so please sign up by Tuesday, August 7.
Financial Peace University is BACK!!! Due to high demand FPU will once again be offered on Wednesday evenings beginning on September 20. On-line and in-person sign ups begin soon. The cost of the class is $60 per couple/individual. This cost includes the new FPU textbook and online membership to FPU. The FPU Membership includes the following:
· One year of Financial Peace University
· Three Months of the Premium Version of EveryDollar
· Live Group of Online Financial Coaching
The Elders have approved the following people for active Membership: John David O’Keefe, Dan and Laura Scheid
Our students will be conducting a coin offering next Sunday, August 6 in the morning services. This offering is divided between the youth ministry areas to be used for special purchases. Next Generation Ministries appreciates the coins that you generously donate.
Today in the Word is available in the oak racks by the nursery and the lobby entryways.
Opportunities to Serve
ESL Conversation Groups needs approved drivers for the 14 passanger van for Tuesday Nights from October 3 – December 12. The route will have one stop on the WMU Campus brining International Students to meet at church and then returning them to campus. If you have a heart for Internationals, we can get you approved to drive. Contact Gary Cudney.
The sales for school supplies have already begun! We need donations of NEW crayons, coloring books, pencils, colored pencils, erasers, pens and markers to be included in each of Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes that are sent to destinations around the world. Donations may be placed in the Samaritans Purse/Operation Christmas Child bin outside room 122A (Reception Room). Shoeboxes/labels are available in the library for those who pack their own shoebox. Elder Focus
Nate Hogan and his wife, Carrie, have four children: Lily, Eva, Luke, and Emma. He was saved in 2002 and started attending Calvary Bible Church in 2006. He has served as an Elder, Deacon, LifeGroup teacher and leader, and HomeGroup leader, and with the Worship Committee, Statement of Faith and Covenant revision team, Advisory Search Committee, and Security Team.
