Senior Associate Pastor Candidate

The Elder’s are pleased to announce that David Kaneversky and his family will be here for a candidate weekend beginning Oct. 6. He will be preaching at both morning services on Sunday, October 8, and will be available to answer questions from the congregation as part of the evening service that night.

Additionally, David will be speaking at a Special Men’s Breakfast on Saturday, October 7. Please Click Here to sign up. Please be in prayer for David and his family, as well as our church leadership and body, as we all seek the Lord’s will in this matter. Registration closes Wednesday, Oct 4.


NEWS

Chicken & Stuffing bake will be served at the Family Dinner from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., prior to the evening activities on Wednesday. A gluten free or dairy free option is available upon advanced request. We ask everyone to sign up in advance (no later than 9:00 a.m. Wednesday) by noting on a Calvary Connection card, calling the Church Office or by clicking here. This is always a great time of fellowship before the evening activities begin.

Thank you for signing up! The kitchen staff was able to plan appropriately for the meal based on sign ups and did not run short on anything. Keep up the good work!

 Please consider contributing to a love offering for our Pastors to express our thanksgiving for their service to the Lord here at Calvary. Please mark a separate envelope with “Pastor Appreciation" and put it in the offering. Alternatively, you can give online through the church website or the church REALM database. Select 'Other Projects' and type 'Pastor Appreciation' into the memo box that appears. These donations will be tax deductible and accepted through, October 31.

 The next Membership class will be on Saturday, October 14 in Room 122 A & B (Reception Rooms). The class will be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with lunch provided. Please bring your Bible. Click Here to sign up or contact Angela Haner in the Church Office.

Our students will be conducting a coin offering today in the morning services. This offering is divided between the youth ministry areas to be used for special purchases. Next Generation Ministries appreciates the coins that you generously donate.

There will be a Parent Dedication on October 29, where parents will have the opportunity before the congregation to commit to raising their child in a biblical manner and for God’s glory during the morning services. If you are interested in participating, there are two required dedication classes meeting October 8 & 15. These classes are held in Room 215A at 10:30 a.m.. Opportunities to Serve

Bless an Angel Tree child for Christmas 2023  by giving gifts on behalf of their incarcerated parent.  For more details about buying gifts or donating money please call John Hoogenboom at 269-806-1642.

The Grounds Committee is looking for volunteers that would like to help with the Fall Clean-up on Saturday, October 14. The outside work will begin at 9 a.m.. Please contact Paul Carlson  to volunteer for this awesome opportunity for fellowship, while also serving the church.

Women’s Disciple-Making Ministry Christmas Candlelight Dessert. If you would like to host one of the tables, please sign-up online or in person. Sign-ups will begin next Sunday, October 8th online or in-person in the fellowship center on October 15th, 22nd and 29th. “Heaven’s Perfect Gift” will be our theme on Friday evening December 15th. If you have any questions regarding being a host, please email Laura Reynhout here.

Fall Children’s Ministry is still in need of four teachers for the 3 and 4 year old classes. On weeks that we do not have a teacher, the classes will continue to close until the Lord fills the voids. Please contact lora.west@calvarybible.org for more information.

The Calvary Orchestra is seeking more players to help lead in musical worship! If you play an orchestral instrument we’d love to hear from you. The orchestra plays along with the choir two or three Sundays per month and participates in the Christmas and Spring concerts. Kids Praise starts tonight! Kids Praise! is a group of children in grades 1-5 who are enthusiastic about using music, movement, scripture and drama to learn about and tell of our Lord's worth! We rehearse on Sunday evenings at 5:55 p.m.. The focus this semester will be on preparing to sing with the Calvary Choir on two Sunday mornings in late fall. Preparing for the Kids Praise! Spring Musical (Back to the Beginning) will be the primary focus next semester. That musical will be held on Sunday, March 17. Please Click Here to register. Elder Focus

Josh Andrews and his wife, Jodi, have four children: Abigail, Greta, Ella, and Titus. He was saved in 1990 and began attending Calvary Bible Church in 2008. He has served as an usher, projectionist, HomeGroup leader, LifeGroup teacher, High School leader, Deacon, and Elder.
