What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin.

October is Pastor Appreciation Month: Scripture reminds us that “the elders who rule well are worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching” and that “the laborer deserves his wages.” (1 Timothy 5:17-18). In that spirit, we invite you to express your gratitude for our Pastors’ faithful service to the Lord here at Calvary by contributing a love offering during Pastor Appreciation Month. To give either mark a separate envelope with “Pastor Appreciation” and place it in the offering, or if giving online select ‘Pastor Appreciation’ from the dropdown menu. These donations are tax deductible and will be accepted through October 31.

Opportunities to Serve
Children’s Ministry is understaffed. Calvary is blessed with many families with many children who, like adults, need to be poured into and shown the love of Christ. We are only asking for a once a month commitment for Sunday mornings. Please prayerfully consider serving so we can minister to these children well and bring honor and glory to the Lord. Email Hannah Haney for more information or to get plugged in.
