Let me sing now for my well-beloved a song of my beloved concerning His vineyard. My well-beloved had a vineyard on a fertile hill. He dug it all around, removed its stones, and planted it with the choicest vine. And he built a tower in the middle of it and also hewed out a wine vat in it; Then He expected it to produce good grapes, but it produced only worthless ones. “And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge between Me and My vineyard: What more was there to do for MY vineyard that I have not done in it? Why, when I expected it to produce good grapes did it produce worthless ones?

Isaiah 5:1-4

NEWS

Baked Ziti will be served at the Family Dinner from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., prior to the evening activities on Wednesday. For a gluten or dairy free option complete the online form. Without advanced notification we cannot anticipate the need. To ensure we have enough food, we ask everyone to sign up in advance (no later than 9:00 a.m. Wednesday), by noting on a Calvary Connection card, calling the Church Office or by Clicking Here. This is always a great time of fellowship before the evening activities begin.

Today we celebrate with León de Judá (Calvary’s Hispanic ministry) the dedication of the new modular unit! As this fellowship has grown through the years they have moved from room to room in our building. Today, in both services we will dedicate the modular for the ministries of Leon de Juda. Leon de Juda invites everyone to join them for a celebration meal in the Fellowship Center after the second service.

Please note that we respectfully request that no food or beverages be brought in the sanctuary, with the exception of water in a sealed container. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Nomination forms for Elders, Deacons, and Treasurer were sent out to CBC Members last week. Completed forms must be returned by Sunday, March 5, and can be dropped off at the Welcome Center or Church Office or placed in Sam Logan’s box in the mailroom. Please pray that godly men are nominated to serve as leaders in our church. Contact Anna in the church office or click here to email if you did not receive the nomination information or have any questions.

Our Daily Bread is available in the oak rack near the nursery hallway or in the spindles in the lobby entryways.

Turkey Talk is March 21 from 7:00 - 8:15 p.m. in room 219B, just look for the turkey decoys. All ages are invited, from beginner to expert. Learn all about turkeys, turkey calling, and turkey hunting (strategies and habitats). It's free, and it's fun! There will be prizes, snacks and local turkey experts. No registration necessary. Contact Dan Knasel at (208) 917-0444 with questions.

Opportunities to Serve

Children’s Ministry is still looking for volunteers to minister to the Children of Calvary Bible Church! Nursery is in need of 13 adult volunteers (8 on Sunday mornings, 1 on Sunday nights and 4 on Wednesday nights). Our Sunday School Classes still need 4 adult volunteers (1 Teacher and 4 Helpers). These classes and nurseries cannot open without the volunteers needed to staff them. Please consider serving, twice a month or even once a month. Anything is a blessing. For more information contact Hannah Haney, or call the Church Office.

NEXT GENERATION MINISTRIES

To find out more about Next Gen. Ministries, visit our webpage here. To be added to our weekly parent emails, contact Hannah Haney. To access all of our forms, registrations, and applications click here.

Please be in prayer for our Tennessee Service Team, as we prepare to send 23 Middle School Students and 9 Leaders to Townsend, Tennessee at the end of March. We will be doing service projects for Children’s Bible Ministries, an organization whose purpose is to teach, evangelize, disciple, encourage, and equip both non-believers and believers of all ages.

Mark your calendar for this year’s Vacation Bible School July 10-14! You are not going to want to miss it!

Special Business Meetings

The primary focus of the January 21 Elder retreat was discussion of near-term staffing solutions and longer-term staffing strategies. A presentation to the congregation with more details will be included in both AM services on February 26th. As part of the Sunday PM service on February 26 there will be a Special Business Meeting to provide members the opportunity to hear from internal pastoral candidates and ask questions. A subsequent Special Business Meeting will be held on the morning of March 19 to conduct a congregational vote.  Please be in prayer for the process, and that the decisions we make together will help us accomplish our mission to “multiply disciples who glorify God by going to all peoples, gathering in community, and growing in Christ.

Thank You

We wanted to thank our Calvary family for their prayers and love reached out to us at the passing of Paul's dad into the presence of his Heavenly Father. The gift to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission is something that would have brought him joy. We would appreciate prayer as we plan a celebration of life service in June, that God will be glorified, the gospel clearly shared, and people to come to know Christ
