Before You Share Your Faith: Chapter 3: Love the Lost
Sunil John
In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory.” And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke. Then I said, “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, And I live among a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs. He touched my mouth with it and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven.”

The REACH ministry had a special speaker, Phil Johnson, from Kalamazoo Youth for Christ February 15. Phil delivered a powerful message to the teens from the Word. Praise God ten teens responded to an altar call regarding spiritual counseling/salvation. Please pray for James Ware and the Leadership Team as we identify their spiritual decisions and begin their discipleship program/follow-up.
We can thank God together that the End of the Year giving project far exceeded our expectations. We had set a goal of $30,000 to assist 5 families in Europe with the exceptional increases in heating and living expenses caused by the war in Ukraine. Through the generous giving of the congregation a total of $52,185 was received! This allowed us to add another family facing significant needs as well as significantly increase gifts to each of the original families.
Completed Nomination Forms for Elders, Deacons, and Treasurer must be returned today, and can be dropped off at the Welcome Center or Church Office or placed in Sam Logan’s box in the mailroom. Please pray that godly men are nominated to serve as leaders in our church. Contact Anna in the church office or click here to email if you have any questions.
Our students will be conducting a coin offering Today in the morning services. This offering is divided between the youth ministry areas to be used for special purchases. Next Generation Ministries appreciates the coins that you generously donate.
Special business Meeting
Subsequent to the congregational presentations and the Special Business Meeting conducted on February 26, a Special Business Meeting will be held on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 11:50 a.m. following the 10:30 a.m. service. The purpose of the meeting will be votes to approve the call of Dan Johnson as Associate Pastor of Member Care and to approve the call of Jim West as Associate Pastor of Adult Disciple Making. The Elders are also recommending that Justin and Katie McCoy serving with the Navigators be approved as Global Partners. All members should plan to be in attendance for these important decisions in the life of our church body.
Opportunities to Serve
Children’s Ministry is still looking for volunteers to minister to the Children of Calvary Bible Church! Nursery is in need of 13 adult volunteers (8 on Sunday mornings, 1 on Sunday nights and 4 on Wednesday nights). Our Sunday School Classes still need 4 adult volunteers (1 Teacher and 4 Helpers). These classes and nurseries cannot open without the volunteers needed to staff them. Please consider serving, twice a month or even once a month. Anything is a blessing. For more information contact Hannah Haney, or call the Church Office.
