Righteousness From God

Romans 3:21-31 (NASB95)

Living God

2 Corinthians 3:3; Joshua 3:10; Hosea 1:10

Terry Rowland

But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a 1propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith. For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law. Or is God the God of Jews only? Is He not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since indeed God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith is one. Do we then nullify the Law through faith? May it never be! On the contrary, we establish the Law.

NEWS

Spring Break! This week we will not have a Family Dinner or Wednesday Evening Activities. Enjoy some quiet time with the Lord and friends or family.

This is a reminder the building will be closed for all events from March 31— April 5. This allows the facilities staff to get much-needed Spring cleaning and maintenance projects done. Please note that the church office will be open this week.

It’s that time of year! We are looking for volunteers – men, women, and children - to help with spring cleanup here at CBC. Please make plans to join us on Saturday, April 12th from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Saturday, April 19th from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  Work will include general cleaning and sprucing up of the church grounds.  We will meet in front of the church barn located in the northeast parking area. Contact Justin Andrews if you plan to volunteer or have any questions.

The church has an opening for a part-time Facilities Support Staff position, 15-20 hours per week. Individuals will primarily have cleaning and event setup responsibilities, with some occasional basic maintenance tasks. The work schedule is flexible. Applicants must be a Member of Calvary Bible Church or be willing to become a Member. Questions and resumes can be sent to Anna Matecun. Please prayerfully consider serving the Lord by serving others as part of our staff!

Turkey Talk is April 8 from 7:00 — 8:15 p.m. All ages are invited, from beginner to expert. Learn all about turkeys, turkey calling, and turkey hunting (strategies and habitats). It's free, and it's fun! There will be prizes, snacks and local turkey experts. No registration necessary. Contact Dan Knasel with questions.

A new session for Griefshare starts on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. The class meets in room 217 on Tuesday Evenings from 6:30– 8:30 p.m. and will run for 14 weeks. Griefshare is available to everyone, even those who are not members or attendees of Calvary. This is a Biblically-based ministry that comes alongside those who have experienced the loss of a loved one and/or who are struggling with grief from a close death. Go to www.griefshare.org to find our church group and sign up. Please contact Pat Hansson via email for more information.

Today in the Word is available in the White Display Case in the Fellowship Center and in the Lobby Entryways.

Opportunities to Serve

We have a couple of different opportunities to minister to our Swahili-speaking church family. We are looking for volunteers who can help with food/necessity collection and distribution (commitment would be once a month for collection and/or once per month for distribution) or helping with ESL conversation classes. If you would love to bless these families in one (or both!) of these ways please contact Russ Smith in the church office.
