Hope for the Sinner

Out of the depths I have cried to You, O Lord. Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications. If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with YOU, that You may be feared. I wait for the Lord, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than the watchmen for the morning; Indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning. O Israel, hope in the Lord; for with the Lord there is loving kindness, and with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

After salvation, Baptism is an important next step for the believer in Christ. By obeying Christ’s command, you are publicly declaring your identity with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. Our next Baptism service will be Sunday morning, June 19. Please contact Angela Haner or call the church office if you are interested. There are two required meetings prior to Baptism Sunday so please sign up by Tuesday, May 31.
Opportunities to Serve
God’s Helping Hands, with whom Calvary partners, needs volunteers for construction-type projects at their office: replacing brick on the front of the building and adding an awning; demolition of a portion of the back of the building to prepare for an addition and, giving one of our traveling buses a facelift. Our office building is north of Gobles and only a 30-minute drive from Calvary. Please contact Jeff Awe either at the Church Office or email Jeff by clicking here, if you can give them a “helping hand” (pun intended).
Summer is on its way and Children’s Ministry needs YOUR help! Our Summer Sunday Program kicks off on June 12, and we are in need of helpers and game leaders. You do not need to be a member to be involved. Our Summer Sunday program is more relaxed and is a great opportunity to give Children’s Ministry a try. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Hannah Haney in the Church Office or click here to email Hannah.

Note from the Elders - Sabbatical Announcement
Pastor Jeremy has faithfully served our congregation for the past 15 years in several roles, but most dear to his heart is the family ministry. The Lord has been working through him to bless, encourage, and equip each of us in this ministry focus. We are now offering him a 3-month sabbatical through June, July, and August in accordance with the sabbatical policy for Pastors recently approved by the Elders. Jeremy will use this time to refresh and spend time with his family, research other family ministry programs, and attend a family ministry conference. He will also continue to refine the program he has initiated here at Calvary and develop ministry specific training. During this time, please keep Jeremy and his family in your prayers, asking the Lord to continue to work in and through him. We firmly believe this will be for the benefit and growth of Calvary Bible Church.
Ministry Focus
Angel Tree is a ministry showing the love of Christ to children of inmates and their families. It seeks to transform lives by reconciling families to their Heavenly Father and each other. Calvary Bible Church reaches these families through the Wednesday night AWANA and REACH programs, the Annual Christmas Cookie Bake, Christmas gifts, and an opportunity to attend Camp Michawana along with a backpack of supplies for camp. These activities provide us an ongoing opportunity to introduce and reflect Christ to the children and their families.
Elder Focus
Justin McCoy was saved in 1990 and began attending Calvary in 2011. He serves as our Next Generation Pastor. He is married to Katie and they have two children, Haddon and Moriah.
