Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions. Of this church I was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints, to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.

Opportunities to Serve
Children’s Ministry has immediate needs! There are 64 open slots in June alone. Church Membership is not required to serve; these are helper roles; you won’t be teaching. Please call the Church Office or email Hannah Haney.
God’s Helping Hands, with whom Calvary partners, needs volunteers for construction-type projects at their office: replacing brick on the front of the building and adding an awning; demolition of a portion of the back of the building to prepare for an addition and, giving one of our traveling buses a facelift. Our office building is north of Gobles and only a 30-minute drive from Calvary. Please contact Jeff Awe either at the Church Office or email Jeff by clicking here, if you can give them a “helping hand” (pun intended).
The Calvary Choir is now accepting new members for the 2022-2023 season. If you are High School age or older and desire to serve the Lord through the choir ministry or would like additional information, please contact Mark Duncan in the Church Office or email Mark Duncan.
The choir is welcoming guest singers during the a.m. services on June 12, July 10 and August 21. If you¹d like to get a feel for what the choir ministry is all about or if you just would like to take this opportunity to sing, we¹d love to have you join us on one or all of these mornings! To participate, please email Mark Duncan or contact the Church Office.

Ugandan Famine Relief Update and Thankyou
In the summer of 2021 we learned of the ongoing drought in Uganda and the resulting famine conditions that the families related to The Way Home Ministries were experiencing. In the month of August 2021, Calvary generously responded by collecting and sending $106,000 in relief funds. In answer to prayer, there has been some rain, although far less than normal, and therefore some slight relief of the famine conditions. With the resulting harvests, even though small, only three food distributions were required this year. With each distribution, over 900 people receive essential food aid. At the current rate of limited rainfall and anticipated distributions, there are still sufficient funds to provide for about 3 more years!
Ministry Focus
The Benevolence Fund provides an opportunity for us to demonstrate the love of Christ to those within our church body with a financial need. Disbursements from the Fund are normally determined by the Benevolence Committee of the Deacon Board following the policies established by the Elders. The Pastors are authorized by the Elders to disburse a limited portion of the funds for special situations that require immediate action. The Benevolence Fund is supported only through gifts specifically designated to the Benevolence Fund online or by writing Benevolence on your envelope. Envelopes in the pews include a separate column labeled Benevolence. The Benevolence Fund is one way that we are laying up treasures in heaven by meeting the needs of brothers and sisters in Christ.
