Evening Service
Pastor Appreciation Reception to follow
Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, And the justice due me escapes the notice of my God”? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.
Isaiah 40:27-31
SPECIAL BUSINESS MEETING
This morning immediately following the second service we will have a Special Business Meeting for a vote to affirm the call of David Kaneversky as Senior Associate Pastor. All members should plan to be in attendance for this important decision in the life of our church body. Absentee ballots are available in the lobby at the Welcome Center and must be completed and submitted prior to the start of the meeting. Please remember that absentee ballots do not count towards a quorum.
Important Information
Following the 10:30 a.m. service at 11:50 a.m. we have a Congregational vote in the Sanctuary today.
Tonight there is the Pastor Appreciation Reception in the Fellowship Center following evening service.
NEWS
Remember to set your clocks back an hour on Saturday, November 4 to end Daylight Savings Time.
Taco Bar will be served at the Family Dinner from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., prior to the evening activities on Wednesday. A gluten free or dairy free option is available upon advanced request. We ask everyone to sign up in advance (no later than 9:00 a.m. Wednesday) by noting on a Calvary Connection card, calling the Church Office or by clicking here. This is always a great time of fellowship before the evening activities begin.
The Pastors will be honored in a reception tonight following the evening service in the Fellowship Center. Please consider contributing to a love offering for them to express our thanksgiving for their service to the Lord here at Calvary. Please mark a separate envelope with “Pastor Appreciation" and put it in the offering. Alternatively, you can give online through the church website or the church REALM database. Select 'Other Projects' and insert 'Pastor Appreciation' into the memo box that appears. These donations will be tax deductible and accepted through October 31.
To write a note of encouragement to the Pastors for Pastor Appreciation, please see the table set up in the Fellowship Center.
For the four Sundays in November, we will be accepting contributions towards our annual Global Partner Christmas Gift fund. These funds will be distributed as an expression of our appreciation to the Global Partners we support.
Our students will be conducting a coin offering next Sunday, November 5 in the morning services. This offering is divided between the youth ministry areas to be used for special purchases. Next Generation Ministries appreciates the coins that you generously donate.
It's Shoe Box Time! Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes, labels and information are now available for pick-up in the library. Packed shoe boxes may be dropped off in the library too. The Packing Party for Awana clubs will be held in the Block on Wednesday, November 8. We will be packing shoe boxes for children in the 2-4 age group.
Today in the Word is available on the Oak Racks located in the Fellowship Center and in the lobby entryways.
This is the LAST weekend to register for the Global Impact Luncheon & Childrens Program on Saturday, November 4 at 11:30 a.m. Please don’t miss out on this opportunity to learn how to talk with your children or grandchildren about Jesus but also equip them as they grow in their faith. You can also sign up for the Friday Night (middle, high school, & college kids) event. Click on the corresponding link to sign up: Friday Night, Saturday Lunch, and Saturday Kids.
Opportunities to Serve
Operation Christmas Child is in need of a few volunteers to help with set-up and to assist the children through the assembly line and clean up afterwards. Please contact Pam Wilkinson to volunteer.
Today is the last day to sign up to host a table for the Christmas Candlelight Dessert. You can sign up both in the fellowship center or by Clicking Here.

This class is in need of one teacher to serve once a month during the 9:00 a.m. service and one teacher to serve once a month during the 10:30 a.m. service.
