But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death works in us, but life in you.
2 Corinthians 4:7-10
NEWS
Taco Bar will be served at the Family Dinner from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. prior to the evening activities on Wednesday. A gluten free option is always available. To ensure we have enough food, we ask everyone to sign up in advance (no later than 9:00 a.m. Wednesday), by noting on a Calvary Connection card, calling the Church Office or by Clicking Here using the QR code. This is always a great time of fellowship before the evening activities begin.
LifeGroups will meet together in theBLOCK for Global Impact Weekend, November 6.
At their meeting in early October, the Elders approved Russ Smith as the next Executive Director replacing Mark Kehlenbeck, who is retiring. Russ and his wife, Sandy, have one daughter, Corinne. He was saved in 2002 and started attending Calvary Bible Church in 2014. He has served in Men’s Ministry and LifeGroup Leadership, as well as a Deacon and Elder. Russ has extensive executive leadership experience and will now be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Church. Mark will continue to serve at Calvary, initially to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
Please consider contributing to a love offering for our Pastors to express our thanksgiving for their service to the Lord here at Calvary. Please mark a separate envelope with “Pastor Appreciation" and put it in the offering. Alternatively, you can give online through the church website or the church REALM database. Select 'Other Projects' and insert 'Pastor Appreciation' into the memo box that appears. These donations will be tax deductible and accepted through tomorrow, October 31.
For the four Sundays in November, we will be accepting contributions towards our annual Global Partner Christmas Gift fund. These funds will be distributed as an expression of our appreciation to the Global Partners we support. These gifts will not be tax deductible. Please mark a separate envelope with the gift title under ‘Other’ and put it in the offering plate. Alternatively, you can give online through the church website or using the church REALM database. Opportunities to Serve
With your help, Children’s Ministry can be fully staffed. Are you be willing to be one of THE 12? We need 12 more people to sacrifice part of your Sunday morning either once or twice a month. This opportunity allows us as the body at Calvary Bible Church to come alongside parents and help them as they disciple and teach their children and build a solid foundation on Christ. It also allows us to fulfill our role in the work of the body as Christ intended us to, each of us doing our part functioning as a complete body. “If one part of the body suffers we all suffer with it; or if on member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” (I Cor. 12:26) No previous training required. If you are interested please contact Hannah Haney.
AWANA needs more leaders for our Sparks (K-2nd Grade) and T&T (3rd-5th Grade) Clubs on Wednesday nights. If you are interested in serving, please contact Hannah Haney.

Important Information on Right to Life Issues
Vote No on Proposal 22-3. It is on the ballot for this November. The proposal is “to amend the state constitution to establish new individual right to reproductive freedom, including right to make all decisions about pregnancy and abortion; …and forbid prosecution of individuals exercising established right.” It goes on to say that it allows the “state to regulate abortion after fetal viability, but not prohibit if medically needed to protect a patient’s….mental health”. It invalidates state laws that conflict with the amendment. Per Cathy Stoner, Executive Director at Alternatives of Kalamazoo, a Global Partner of Calvary Bible Church, "This amendment goes far beyond "getting Roe back”. If this passes, Michigan will likely be the most extreme pro-choice state in the nation. Prop 3 is confusing and extreme." This amendment is not a political issue; it is a moral, biblical issue. In Psalm 139, we learn that God continues to be the Creator who forms life together in the “mother’s womb”. When we have an opportunity, we also have a responsibility, to pray and seek to turn our nation away from its wicked ways.
