Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh, who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for His name’s sake, among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ; to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called as saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 1:1-7

NEWS

Sloppy Joes will be served at the Family Dinner from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m., prior to the evening activities on Wednesday. A gluten free or dairy free option is available upon advanced request. We ask everyone to sign up in advance (no later than 12:00 p.m. Monday, this is a change) by noting on a Calvary Connection card, calling the Church Office, or Clicking Here. This is always a great time of fellowship before the evening activities begin.

December 29 is our next 5th Sunday Fellowship and combined Worship Service. During the fellowship time we plan to serve Breakfast Casseroles, Breakfast baked goods and donuts. If you would like to bring something or help with set up and/or clean up contact Pastor David for further details.

This Year-End Giving Project is to fund projects for two of our Global Partners: Phil & Rachel Stucky in Brazil, and Sunil & Jeena John in Nepal.

1) $12,000 is needed to repair the church in Brazil destroyed by flooding earlier this year; and
2) $30,000 is needed for numerous projects in Sunil and Jeena’s community to further the Gospel.

Funds received in excess of these amounts will be allocated to our Global Ministries Fund to assist our Global Partners with strategic needs. To contribute to this fund, please note “Year End Giving Project” on your offering envelope, or if giving online select “other projects” and type in Year End Giving Project.

Calling all men! Our Men’s Breakfast kick-off is Saturday, December 21 at 8:30 a.m. This year we are walking through the letter to the Colossians together. There is a schedule/bookmark (in spinner racks in lobby) for you to pick up that has all the dates and passages to read ahead for the group time each month. Put these dates on your calendar and bring a friend! You will be glad you did. Call the Church Office or use the Click Here to sign up.

If you need new Offering Envelopes or have not received them in the past, they are now available in the Fellowship Center or by contacting the Church Office. These envelopes do not have a number. The office will provide stickers to be applied to each envelope with your name and giving number.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

The Nursery on Sunday mornings is in need of 6-8 volunteers for the second service as a number of volunteers have recently needed to step down. If God is leading you to serve in this ministry, or if you are currently not serving in the church and would like to get started, please contact Lora West in the church office and she can answer any questions and help get you involved.

Calvary Christmas Concert

The Light Still Shines Christmas concerts will be next weekend on Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Also, the new Calvary Christmas album by the same name will be released on Friday. Digital downloads are available Here. CDs will be sold in the lobby before and after the concerts. Calvary attenders are encouraged to consider attending on Friday or Saturday night as those evening concerts tend to be somewhat less attended than the Sunday concert and to come early as we anticipate a large turnout. Also, please note that the middle front sections of the sanctuary will be reserved for our guests. Additionally, all 3 concerts will be live streamed.

Calvary Handbells will ring Christmas selections including Handel's Hallelujah Chorus in the Lobby prior to the concerts. Friday and Saturday 6:20 - 6:50 p.m.; Sunday 5:20 - 5:50 p.m.
