Steve & Arlene Richardson

President

Steve Richardson

President, Pioneers-USA

Steve was raised in Indonesia, where his parents planted churches in a jungle tribe. Arlene was also raised in a mission-minded family. Her parents left the corporate world in 1979 to start a new mission agency called Pioneers.

Soon after Steve and Arlene married, they joined Pioneers and moved to Southeast Asia to plant churches among a major Muslim unreached people group. With their team of 40 coworkers, they developed an innovative approach to church planting called Lampstand. Together they helped start a center for evangelism, a handicraft business, several media ministries and two English language schools.

Since 1999, Steve has served as president of Pioneers-USA, based in Orlando. He is the author of Is the Commission Still Great? Arlene founded a global micro enterprise network and authored Threads, a book recounting the Richardsons’ early adventures in business as mission. She speaks on marketplace ministries and serves the hospitality and donor needs of the organization. The Richardsons are blessed with four daughters and many grandchildren.

Pioneers is a growing international movement of approximately 465 teams which impact almost 450 unreached people groups worldwide.
