New Opportunities for Fellowship!

If you are post-college through age 35 you are cordially invited to join us for NextSteps, meeting at 9:00 a.m. in Room 300! Together we will enjoy community, growth, service, outreach, worship, and prayer in a focused, yet relaxed, interactive and engaging environment. In order to encourage us in our quest for growth in grace and truth, multiple formats will be utilized to address a broad array of topical and biblical studies, issues of shared life experience, and current challenges in our post-Christian culture. Come join us!

Women's Thursday Morning Bible Study will begin January 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Center and will run through April 1. We will be going through the book "Choosing Forgiveness," by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. There are no secret formulas for forgiveness, but there are biblical principles that will help us break free from bitterness and pain. Discover specific strategies for putting God's grace and mercy into practice as we study God's Word, pray for one another, and grow in obedience and love. Click here to sign up or call the church office. Today is the last day to register!

Here’s What’s New

Bread of Life Ministry
The Elders have established a partnership with the South Michigan Food Bank to provide food boxes to families and individuals who have been negatively affected by the economic shutdown associated with Covid-19. On Thursday, April 30, between 2-4 p.m., people can drive up to the south entrance of the church and both a food box and an evangelistic letter from Calvary will be placed in their trunk. For those without a vehicle, walk-up pickup will also be available. Volunteers can also deliver a limited number of boxes directly to people’s porches, but this must be arranged in advance by completing the online form. This ministry is for anyone, either in the church or in our community, who could benefit from supplemental grocery assistance. For example, South Michigan Food Bank’s guidelines list an income of $70,320 or less for a family of 6 or $25,520 for an individual, as meeting the standards for the USDA and donated grocery-store food they are providing. This means many students, individuals, and families in our own congregation qualify. We will have 275 boxes available, so please take advantage of this ministry, and also help us get the word out!

Easter Outreach

Easter is a special time in the life of the Church and each year we take the time to focus on inviting family, friends and neighbors to join us for our Easter Service. This year, we have a unique opportunity to invite people to join us all as we livestream the service together. To help you do this, we have created digital invitations for you to post on your social media accounts, email or text to your family and friends to invite them to our livestreamed Resurrection service on Easter morning at 9:00 a.m. Let’s all prayerfully consider how to use these invitations to get the message of hope out to people who are desperate for hope these days. There is no greater hope than the truth that Jesus is Risen Indeed!

Don’t forget you can watch live on our website or through YouTube by searching Calvary Bible Church Kalamazoo and clicking the Live option.

Dear Calvary Bible Church Family,

We have been given the privilege of honoring the Lord with the first fruits of all he has provided to us (Prov. 3:9). Giving is also an act of worship to our Lord. Despite our current unprecedented circumstances with most people watching our church service remotely on Live Stream, last week our offering reached 54% of budgeted levels. Thank you for your continued commitment to financially supporting the ministries of Calvary Bible Church.

For this week, and in the near future, we will again be watching our church service remotely. Ryan and the Praise Team will lead us in offertory worship.  We encourage you to make your offering during that time. There are several ways to give:

  • Online giving on the church website by clicking on the link to “Give Online”. You can designate your contribution to the General, Mission, Building, and Benevolence funds as well as to “Other Projects”; a memo line will appear for you to input the project name. You also have the opportunity to specify the frequency of your gift, i.e. One time or Recurring, weekly, monthly, every 2 weeks, twice monthly or every 3 months. You will need your bank account information or debit card.

  • Online giving can also be executed through connection with Realm, our data base vendor for People, Contributions and Finances. You must have an email address in our database to process your contribution. If you are not currently registered in Realm, please contact the church office.

  • Texting CalvaryBible to 732-56 if you have a smart phone. A link will come back. Once you click on it, you can enter the amount you want to give and the fund.

  • Preparing a check and putting it in your church envelope. You can then either mail your church envelope to the Calvary Bible at 855 South Drake Road, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 or drop it off at the church office next week.

Please contact the church office if you have any questions.

To God be the Glory forever.
