News

Daylight Saving Time ends. Remember to turn your clocks back on Saturday night, October 31.

Seating Capacity: In the past few weeks, every row has been available for seating in the side sections and the balcony during the morning worship services. However, in some cases, this has not been fully necessary, and we want to encourage everyone in those sections to sit in every other row, if seating capacity permits. As a result, we labeled some rows as Overflow (Use if Needed). These rows should be used when other space is not readily available.

On Sunday, November 1 the Higher Precaution Service will move from 6:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Based on participant input, the Elders decided that this move will allow for those attending the evening service to return home during daylight driving hours.

October is Pastor Appreciation month. The Pastors will be honored during the morning services on November 1. Please consider contributing to a love offering for them to express our thanksgiving for their service to the Lord here at Calvary. Please mark a separate envelope with 'Pastor Appreciation" and put it in the offering. Alternatively, you can give online here, or the church REALM database. Select 'Other Projects' and insert 'Pastor Appreciation' into the memo box that appears. These donations will be tax deductible as they will be taxable income to the Pastors.

Our Global Partners have felt the impact of COVID-19 in many ways. Some were stranded away from their ministry home or had their home service in the U.S. cut short. This November as we collect for the Global Partner Christmas Gift we ask you keep all of our Partners in your prayers. The funds we collect will be distributed as an expression of our appreciation to the Global Partners and the many countries in which they serve. These gifts will not be tax deductible. Please mark a separate envelope with the gift title under ‘Other’ and put it in the offering plate. Alternatively, you can give online here, or using the church REALM database. Select ‘Other Projects’ and insert the gift title into the memo box that appears.

COVID Reminder: With the Kalamazoo Health Department reporting an upward trend of COVID cases in the community, we encourage anyone in the congregation who has tested positive to contact the Church Office, so we can minister and serve in practical ways; we will honor each person’s privacy. We are grateful to the Lord that so far there have not been any transmissions at church, but we have heard from a few Members who have contracted the virus outside of church. We encourage everyone to refer back to the steps the Elders set out in early June for us to follow when we are notified that someone in the congregation has tested positive for COVID-19; they have been reposted here and are available by contacting the church office.

Men’s Basketball is back! We will begin on Monday, October 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the gym. Face masks are required, and we have a maximum capacity of 20 guys. Drop in for devotions and a workout.

Bless an Angel Tree child for Christmas 2020 by giving gifts on behalf of their incarcerated parent. Sign up today in your LifeGroup, or Fellowship Center. If you have any questions please contact the church office.
