News
The Pastors and Elders are pleased to announce that Austin Dosh has accepted the position of Director of Outreach and will start at the beginning of August. Austin will be responsible to plan, execute and sustain our local outreach ministries. Reaching the students on the university campuses will be a high priority. When you see Austin, please welcome him to the staff.
Save the Date! Fellowship Sunday will take place on Sunday, August 29. A joint service will be held at 10:45 a.m. Come back at 6:00 pm for worship, a devotional, outdoor baptisms (sign-ups are already in progress, see the announcement below), dinner and Care-Share-Prayer Team sign ups. More information will come in the following weeks. If you would like to help with this event contact Dan Johnson in the church office.
The Elders have reinstated our normal Sunday Evening Service at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel. It has been a great time of worship, fellowship, prayer and teaching. Please join us again tonight in the Chapel.
Pastor Bret will continue to minister to anyone desiring a higher precaution format at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
After salvation, Baptism is an important next step for the believer in Christ. By obeying Christ’s command, you are publicly declaring your identity with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. Our next Baptism Service will be Sunday evening, August 29. Please contact Ana Ruggles in the church office if you are interested. There are two required meetings prior to Baptism Sunday so please sign up by Tuesday, August 3.
School supply season has arrived! Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are filled in November with pencils and pencil sharpeners, pens, erasers, markers, colored pencils, scissors, glue sticks, coloring books and spiral notebooks. Donations of any of these items may be placed in the Samaritan's Purse/Operation Christmas Child bin outside Reception Room A. For information about this ministry, click here. Contact Pam Wilkinson with questions.
Annual Meeting Results
I want to thank the members of Calvary Bible Church for their participation in the annual business meeting. The support for the work done by staff, committees, Deacons and Elders is overwhelming. I do also want to make a clarification on the totals for the votes for the Elders and Deacons. I made an announcement at the time that all nominees passed by a margin of 85%. After a review of the number of votes per person the tally shows each nominee passed with at least a 95% margin. Thank you all again for your encouragement, and support of the work of this local church body. May the Lord continue to bless this body and all the ministries represented here.

Thank you so much for praying for Vacation Bible School! We had a great week. We averaged 192 kids every day and had about 90 volunteers. We raised $2,032.04 for our Global Partners and thanks to an anonymous donor who matched our giving, our total donation was $4,032.04! We are already planning next year’s VBS and hope to see you there on July 11-15!
