But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy. And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

James 3:17-18

NEWS

Due to Vacation Bible School preparations, there will be no childcare, nursery or above, for the evening service tonight. Childcare for the evening service will resume next Sunday, July 17.

VBS begins tomorrow, July 11. Please pray for the staff, students and visitors who will attend. If you would like to receive daily Prayer and Praise updates for VBS 2022 email Hannah Haney.

Ladies, please join us to honor Melissa Poggemiller with a Global Sisters Reception on Sunday, July 17th at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Please click here to sign up or call the office. Sign ups close on July 11.

After salvation, Baptism is an important next step for the believer in Christ. By obeying Christ’s command, you are publicly declaring your identity with Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. Our next Baptism service will be Sunday morning, August 21. Please contact Angela Haner or call the church office if you are interested. There are two required meetings prior to Baptism Sunday, so please sign up by Tuesday, August 9.

The school sales have already begun!  When purchasing school supplies, please consider purchasing a few extra new pencils, colored pencils, erasers, pens, markers, one subject notebooks, coloring books or crayons to be packed in Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes during November so children around the world may attend school. Our shoeboxes last season were shipped to Rwanda and Burundi. Donations may be placed in the Samaritans Purse/Operation Christmas Child bin outside Room 122A (Reception Room). For information about this ministry visit samaritanspurse.org/OCC or contact Pam Wilkinson at (269) 375-9039.

Opportunities to Serve

Children’s Ministry has immediate needs! For next week Sunday, July 17 there is a need for 15 helpers, 1 teacher, and 1 game leader. Church Membership is not required to serve; these are helper roles; you won’t be teaching. Please call the Church Office or email Hannah Haney.

The Calvary Choir is now accepting new members for the 2022-2023 season. If you are High School age or older and desire to serve the Lord through the choir ministry or would like additional information, please contact Mark Duncan or call the Church Office.

The Choir is welcoming guest singers during the morning services on August 21. If you¹d like to get a feel for what the Choir ministry is all about or if you just would like to take this opportunity to sing, we¹d love to have you join us on one or all of these mornings! To participate, please email Mark Duncan or contact the Church Office.

Annual Meeting Results

I want to thank the members of Calvary Bible Church for their participation in the annual business meeting. The support for the work done by staff, committees, Deacons and Elders is overwhelming. I do also want to make a clarification on the totals for the votes. I had made an announcement at the time that everything passed by a margin of 88%. After a review of the number of votes, the tally shows each Elder/Deacon, the Global Partners, and the Budget all passed with at least a 96% margin. Thank you all again for your encouragement, and support of the work of this local church body. May the Lord continue to bless this body and all the ministries represented here.
- Dan Haney, Elder Chairman

Thank You from the Herder and Ruiter Families

Our mother entered Into the presence of the Lord unexpectedly on June 5. A sincere thank you to everyone that has prayed for us, sent cards, expressed genuine words of sympathy and attended her visitation/funeral. A special note of thanks to Dan Johnson for including both of our parents in his hospital visitation and to the church for the donation given to Kalamazoo Gospel Ministries honoring the memory of our mother, Shirley Breedveld.
